Being in an expensive school doesn't make you above anyone else. Well, it is for a fact that you'll be having an edge over those who graduated from a regular state universities or colleges. But that doesn't mean that you are the best among all.
At MAV Pre-school Department, my daughter learned how to read by age 4. Learned how to add and subtract by age 4. And can have a conversation of full
English speaking. She speaks her mind, the word she said are not scripted. She knows how to express herself.
I was just surprised, when I learned that somebody thought that MAV is a fake montessori. And that somebody believed that my daughter is a late learner for her age just because some kid started reading by 2.
It hurts when you heard things like this. It feels like you want to spank that person at the face. But then again, not worthy of it.
I just think of the great things I have and proud of. My daughter may not be as genius as some other kids out there, but she's special for me. She's healthy, she's normal. She's a very sweet, compassionate and loving child, all the more a very caring one.
I learned how to read by age 8, she learned it by 4. I learned how to do basic math by age 9 and she learned it by age 4. I learned how to use a computer by age 15, she learned it by age 3. I learned about geography by age 10, she learned it by age 4.
Well, she learned so many things during her stay at MAV as a Senior Casa student, and now I am excited for the things she'll learn this
school year as an Advanced Casa student.
What she'll learn from school is purely more on the academics, and I as a mother wanted her to have the best education she can have, I am not that rich to put her on a very expensive school that teaches the same thing as of that of a regular Montessori school.
I am just being practical, Php40K tuition fee is not an easy money and not that cheap, and knowing the fact that I am raising my child on my own, it's pretty tough huh..
I know that at MAV, she's in good hands and she'll have the best education for a pre-school of her age. But as a mom, I still would want her to learn to value things in life other than that of what she learned from school, and I know that MAV also teaches their student of "values education".
She have a GMRC book now as an Advanced Casa student.I am very satisfied with the way MAVean teachers taught their students. Yzabel had shown great progress from non-reader/non-writer 3 years old to a reader and writer 4years old.
Besides, after college, it's not 100% of your education that will determine what you'll become in the future, one great factor is the attitude you have while facing all life's challenges.
Just ranting. Still thankful for all of the blessings.
On the side note: MAV have plans of putting up a Music School, of which singers and musicians from UP might be the one going to facilitate the Music School, which by the way happens to be just in front of out house! hahaha!
