Two Kinds of Happiness

There are two kinds of happiness - the temporary pleasure derived primarily from material comfort alone and another more enduring comfort that results from the thorough transformation and development of the mind. We can see in our own lives that the latter form of happiness is superior because when our mental state is calm and happy, we can easily put up with minor pains and physical discomforts. On the other hand, when our mind is restless and upset, the most comfortable physical facilities do not make us happy.

The bigger happiness is the one we work hard to attain and is more satisfying in the end.

That's why I always prefer the latter. I can put up with anything as long as I have peace of mind.

I definitely agree. May I add a passage from the Bible that says "don't look at temporal things but set your eyes on eternal things. Temporal things fades but eternal things lasts." Following this principle, one will attain genuine happiness.

What do you actually feel about this quote then, ma'am? I happen to think there's only one kind of happiness :)
I wish everyone happiness inside and out! You see, when we are grateful for even the littlest thing - we'd be happy!:)

For me, Happiness is part of our life, a cycle either we are happy of sad. Be thankful for what we have.

Actually there are 31 TYPES OF HAPPINESS but to sum it all it breaks into two, the EGO'S HAPPINESS and TRUE HAPPINESS.

This is true. Everything we experience are the sense of AWE and WONDER from past to present. From real life to a so-called a make believe LIFE.

Of course, I will go for the second type of happiness because it is long lasting.

Happiness derived from getting the material things and happiness derived from achieving inner peace. The former is temporary and the latter is permanent.
