#Instagram Launched 15-Second Video Sharing Feature

This is it!! The one thing we've been waiting for Instagramers!!

Instagram, the immensely popular photo-sharing app that was acquired by Facebook in a $1 billion deal last year, is not just for photos anymore.
At a press event at Facebook’s Menlo Park headquarters, Instagram’s co-founder and CEO Kevin Systrom debuted a new feature called, simply, “Video On Instagram.” This lets people create 15-second videos to share on the service. The feature includes simple editing capabilities as well as 13 new filters, which were specially created for video.
“What we did to photos, we just did to video,” Systrom said.
This feature, which is rolling out to all Instagram users on iOS and Android today, will impact a huge number of people due to Instagram’s current reach. Systrom said today that Instagram has 130 million monthly users, who have shared 16 billion photos to date. Engagement on the app is high: Over 1 billion “likes” are added to the service every day. Facebook Welcomes #Hashtags

We've seen a lot of this # on Twitter.. And honestly, I could never imagine having it on Facebook too!

Support for the all-but-ubiquitous topic organization system was rumored in March and will roll out to a small percentage of users Wednesday. Facebook will roll out hashtags to more users in the coming weeks.
The social network wants to make it easier for users to find content already on Facebook, and functional hashtags are the first step. According to Facebook , many users already post hashtags anyway, so why not make them work. Hashtags will be both clickable and searchable, so, for example, topics like #NSALeaks or #NBAFinals will now exist.
Hashtags from other services, such as Instagram, are clickable as well. Users will also be able to compose posts directly from a hashtag feed and search results. That could make adding real-time content to specific streams easier than before. [Source]

Senator Elect Cynthia Villar Launched First Plastic Recycling Factory in the Metro

Who would've thought that Mrs. Villar will make it during the Senatorial Race last May 2013 election, after being bashed and talked about by the medical community.

Good thing she made it. Giving her more chances/opportunity to serve the public/masses. To continue to educate people about small-scale business, entrepreneurship and a lot more.

Senator-elect Mrs. Cynthia Villar wasted no time in fulfilling her promise of creating livelihood to the poor, while protecting the environment.

She, together with Las Pinas Rep. Mark Villar and Sen. Manny Villar, recently inaugurated the first Waste Plastic Recycling Factory in Metro Manila, which turns plastic wastes into durable school chairs that could last up to 20 years.

“We have a lot of plastic wastes here in Metro Manila. When disposed improperly, these result in clogging of our drainage and eventually cause flooding, spread of diseases, and many others. So we thought of processing these plastic wastes and come up into something useful. That is when I read about this technology in Davao, which processes plastic wastes into school chairs,” relayed Mrs. Villar.

Villar went to Davao herself to witness if the technology is really working.

“I have been using biodegradable wastes as resource in my other livelihood projects. I was so happy when I saw this technology, because now, we can also process non-biodegradable wastes, and we have tons of them here in Metro Manila,” relayed Mrs. Villar.

Villar said she is very proud of this project not only for the livelihood it brings to the poor, but also to the environmental benefit it brings.

“In processing the unavoidable plastic wastes into something useful, like school chairs, we are not only cleaning and protecting the environment, but we are, at the same time, providing livelihood to the poor – to the workers in the factory who are processing the wastes,” said Villar.

She explained, the plastic wastes recycling factory located in Ilaya, Las Pinas City is a pilot project of the Villar Foundation.

Villar said if this project will be successful, it can be replicated in other provinces in the country.
Villar earned the moniker, Misis Hanepbuhay, because of her many livelihood projects built benefitting the poor.

Before running for Senate, Villar served as Congresswoman of Las Pinas for 9 years and became Managing Director of the Villar Foundation, where she continued providing livelihood projects in 200 towns and cities all over the country.

The waste plastic recycling factory is in addition to the existing livelihood project or so-called green social enterprises of the Villar Foundation: waterlily basket weaving enterprise, coconet weaving enterprise, handmade paper factory, handloom blanket weaving enterprise, charcoal-making enterprise, citronella oil-making enterprise and organic fertilizer making factory.

As of latest count, incoming senator Cynthia Villar has established over 230 pilot centers of the livelihood enterprise all over the country. She will pursue this advocacy even as a senator as she vowed to put up one pilot center in each of the 1,600 towns and cities in the Philippines. Her husband, Senator Manny Villar, will continue her other advocacy other the Villar Foundation.

The Villar Foundation continues to warn the public about misleading text messages using its name, it has no existing raffle draws or promotion, so please ignore or report to the foundation. Please see their warning.

8 Important Benefits of Breast Feeding

It is almost 5 months that I have been breastfeeding my youngest daughter, and it feels so good knowing that aside from being practical ans economical, it gives a lot of benefits for me and my baby.

Breastfeeding is just as good for the mom as it is for the babies. The hormones that are produced during breast feeding will curb blood loss post delivery and help to shrink the uterus back to it's normal size.

Breast feeding is proven to lower the chance of breast cancer. The benefits will begin to show with three to six months of breast feeding and increase the longer that breast feeding continues.

  1. Breast feeding is the single most important thing you can do to safeguard your baby and help to increase good health. Adding to that, it's free and almost generally readily available.
  2. Since it's free, you can easily keep your medical bills down. Babies that are fed with formula get sicker often and more severely than babies that are breast fed. Several of the illnesses they'll risk of having could be respiratory infections and hearing problems.
  3. Breast milk composes of antibodies from the mother to help guard the babies against possible and sudden illnesses. Babies dont form antibodies until their vital organs are a little more mature so breastfeeding can help them protect themselves during the first stages of their development.
  4. Sucking also helps the babies develop the muscle and bone alignment on their cheekbones and jaw. As the child gets older, their is less demand for costly orthodontic check-ups and treatment.
  5. Breast milk is always ready, always available, convenient, and always the right temperature for feeding. Plus, it contains all of the vitamins and minerals your growing baby needs, saving you a lot of money.
  6. The mother will also benefit from breast feeding as well. While the baby sucks on the mother's breast, this will cause contractions after birth. Contractions are good because they will lessen postpartal bleeding and will help the uterus return to its original shape before pregnancy.
  7. Breast feeding will also burn calories, so a mom can lose weight much faster than if she fed her baby with a bottle.
  8. The bond between the mother and the baby during breast feeding is one thing bottle feeding cant do.

The significant long term benefits of breast feeding include lessened risk of asthma, allergies, obesity, and some forms of childhood cancer. The more that researchers continue to learn, the better breast milk looks.

Breast feeding has also been associated to a child's high IQ. It was believed that besides making your child healthier, breastfeeding can also make them smarter. Scientific tests from both past and present show that children who were breast fed as an infant tend to be smarter than those who were bottle fed before. Breast fed does support brain growth, which is something all mothers should think about.
