PCPPI recognizes exceptional employees at Gold Crown Awards

Excellence thrives where it is practiced consistently. Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI)—the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country—recently honored three outstanding employees with this year’s Gold Crown Awards. This recognition is awarded to employees for demonstrating professional dedication in line with PCPPI’s ICARE Values, which stands for Integrity and Innovation, Care and Respect, Empowerment and Excellence. The three awardees for this year are (in photo, from left to right) Faith Marie M. Zacal of from PCPPI’s Cagayan De Oro plant, Lucky J. Mallari from the Central Luzon Operations (CLO) and Jona Marie S. Rollan from the Davao manufacturing facility. Of the awardees, PCPPI president and chief executive officer Frederick D. 4th Philippine Rondalla Festival

KUWERDAS NG PAGKAKAISA AT CCP

THE National Commission for Culture and the Arts along with the Cultural Center of the Philippines through the Musicological Society of the Philippines open the 10th year of International Rondalla Festival last Feb 13, at the Little Theater of CCP. It is called the Kuwerdas ng Pagkakaisa, the 4th Philippine Rondalla Festiva or the Plucked String Music Festivall. This is also the launching of Cuerdas Global wherein participants is not only from the Philppines, but rather from different countries all over the world.

Rondalla is one of the rich musical patrimony of the Filipinos that through the years it play major role in nation building process.  Beyond its musical horizon, Rondalla  tradition  is a people friendly medium expression that transcends social and artistic distinctions. 

Among its events are series of concerts, exihibits, forums on Rondalla instrument development and giving recogntions and tribute to artists, teachers and composers who contributed in the development of Rondalla Music.

This year’s participating groups are Celso Espejo Rondalla of Las Pinas, Dipolog Community Rondalla, Harmonya of UPLB, Kabataang Silay Rondalla Ensemble of Silay, Negros Occidental. The Lucban Pahiyas Community Rondalla of Lucban, Quezon. Maco Heights Central School Rondalla of Compostela Valley and the University Of The Philippines Rondalla. And the delegates from other countries are Fu-Shing Junior High School Plucked String Band of Yilan, Taiwan, NTNU Chinese Plucked Instruments Ensemble ot Taipei, Taiwan, Sundanese Kacape Ensemble of Indonesia, and Phong Nguyen Ensemble of Vietnam.

The Festival will run up to Feb 16 at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (Little Theater) of CCP, admission fee to the concert is at P300. Below is the schedule.
