The
Facebook feeds of social-media-savvy Palawenyos were abuzz last Oct 28, 2014.
The online community of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender)
Palawenyos furiously reacted to a bigoted Facebook status post of one
"Fraine Nur." Nur wantonly expressed her negative opinion and
irritation over the news she is seeing on TV and other media about the murdered
Filipina transgender Jennifer Laude.
The flood of reactions came in the form
of condemnation of Nur due to her low opinion of members of the third sex. Some
netizen reactions even went below the belt and asked Nur for a fist-fight with
a stern warning to be careful since gays are around her and a physical backlash
may come upon her.
Based on her latest publicly visible FB
profile, Nur is a student of Palawan State University and has an address in
Tarlac province. But netizens have identified her as a resident of Puerto
Princesa. Her fiancé was also identified in some of the comments to her
Facebook post.

We
translated Nur's post and here it is:
"Annoying news, huh. Always about
Jennifer Laude. Who the hell is she, one promiscuous faggot who already had a
fiancé but still cavorted with other guys? Now, look what happened to her.
Death came to her. And the best part of it was her face got plugged into a
toilet bowl. As a matter of fact, that's not enough for her. Irritating. It's
her fault that she is gay. And only for that, her family is already asking the
Filipinos to join hands to fight for what happened? Please spare me. I don't
really care. I pray that all promiscuous faggots suffer the same fate.
Irritating. They don't have a place in the world because nobody was created
gay, only men and women. I wish they are not stupid.
I am just really pissed off about that
news. That person is not really important. What good deed has she done in
society? Nothing."
The
angered netizens have tried to get in touch with Nur to know how and why she
hates gay people like Laude. Some have posted screen shots of their social
media conversations with Nur who asked for forgiveness. But majority of those
who reacted are not about to let her off the hook unless a public apology is
issued pertaining to her offending post that has gone viral. An apology from
the sister of her boyfriend was posted asking for "peace" especially
for the boyfriend who has also become a subject of social media attack.

We
sent Nur a message through her Facebook account to get her side of the story
but until now we still have not received any reply. Her Facebook page also
appears deactivated - possibly due to what happened. This blog is open for Nur
and her explanation of her viral status post.
