How does a warrior cook a food? The Akira experience of a lifetime.

Alphaland Makati Place has a reason to celebrate and be visited, it’s because a Japanese warrior is cooking his food right at their ground floor for the consumption of others, and it is authentic Japanese food that range from sushi to teppanyaki.

We are talking about Akira, The Art of Sushi &Teppanyaki Restaurant that came from the chain of Sumosam franchise in the Philippines. This cozy place just open last March this year with a 70 to 100 seating capacity, that functions can hold from intimate dinner to group dates or any joyous celebrations that needs special foods of Japan that only Akira can offers best.

“It’s the experience and the ambiance” Miguel Dela Rosa , Marketing Director of Akira told us that make Akira a stand out place or venue in fine dining in the busiest Ayala avenue, they do serve wines and even do some exhibitions while cooking  your favorite Teppanyaki , that you can sit and watch how it was perfectly done like pro as chef and ala-warrior as Akira.  Akira is a Japanese warrior that name has a meaning of brightness, clear and intelligent.

From the mural to furniture’s by Kenneth Cobonpue, Akira is extravagant to give you the elegant fine dining experience, and of course the warm hospitality of their crew.

One thing common about their foods aside from a good presentation, the taste are endless, it’s the sensation in your tongue that will keep you asking for more and not the usual commercial taste you will have in other Japanese resto.

Akira in Alphaland Makati is open daily from 11am to 10 in the evening.

Kanser 2018, the latest take on Noli Me Tangere.

One iconic Philippine theatre experience is Kanser, the stage version of Noli Me Tangere that is written by our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. There are many versions of this play by different theater groups, from musical to straight play. Gantimpala Theater Foundation made it as their own biggest production for so many years, it keep changing and upgrading in many aspects, from color feel, to music ambiance and of course the magnificent cast that is challenge to portray iconic characters onstage. Kanser 2018 proves to adopt the needful in terms of stage show, a showcase of photos and some graphics is on the projector during the performances, some new twist in some remarkable scenes is implemented, like the slapping scene of Maria Clara and Padre Salvi which the audience find it humorous. But the kissing scenes of Crisostomo and Maria Clara is always the favorite mostly by the students, they feel the “kilig” somehow.

With the biggest Jackpot now in Ultra Lotto, everybody is asking for miracle, that they can have the winning number combination, that they win the jackpot and change their lives forever. Just like this musical Guadalupe, it answers a question that we need miracle, for us to have strong faith and earn the living that we want.

Guadalupe The Musical, Julie Borromeo’s Performing Arts Foundation, Inc current theater offering will help you realize that, there are miracles in life that we forgot to acknowledge, this are little miracles that we encounter in our daily lives, that instead of saying thank you, we ignore it because we aspire to be bigger, but this play made me realize a common cliché, sometimes dreams happen for those who are deserving to make it a reality, and that person don’t ask for that.
It is a superb musical to watch out for, even for non-Catholic it is worth a try due to its entertainment value, from the lighting design by John Batalla, the beautiful costumes, the wonde…
