So It’s Kyle, his album and his journey to music.

MCA Music newest recording star is now ready to take the spotlight, being a finalist in The Voice Kids in 2015, Kyle Echarri proves that he got what it takes to have a solo album even as early as 13 years old. His boyish charm, the crispy voice of a teenager, plus an acting skills is a perfect packages for him to conquer the big stage of his own.

Talking with bloggers recently at MCA Music office, Kyle give us the comfortable smile and reason why we should love him, he explain that he didn’t expect anything to happen after not making to the finals of The Voice, under the arm of Coach Sarah Geronimo by then.

“It’s very fun po, I was not expecting it to be as fun as it is, and because of MCA, Star Magic, Cornerstone, they believe in me. Every time I pray I thank them and I did not expect any of this, pero I realize na minsan its also challenging, pero I enjoy the challenge.” Kyle said.

A Liza Soberano admirer, Kyle was one of the trio Voice Next Door train by Richard Poon for the TV show “We Love OPM”, wherein his singing prowess shine the most. He did acting job as well as the half-brother of Nadine Lustre in the hit teleserye “On The Wings Of Love’.

One thing he value most is the lesson he got from Mr.Poon, that in singing he should feel the song, feel the message of the song so he can convey it to the audience very well.

“I want to be known for my music, like how my voice can be different to everyone else’s, na unique po ang boses ko.” Kyle explain.

The It’s Me Kyle album mostly talk about young love, being thankful for others and some heavier topics about losing love one. He admit that he was challenge to do the album along with all the composers assign for his debut, but it’s a work in progress that he will do better more, actually he is trying to write songs lately and studying to play guitar.

Even at age of 13, Kyle also experience the cruel world of social media, he was even called as kamag-anak of Matteo Guidecilli, the boyfriend of Popstar Sarah Geronimo, this is because he came from Cebu like Matteo, and thus pave the way for him to reach semi finals in The Voice Kids, he was even accused of giving bribe to Sarah just to make it in the said contest. But he dismiss all of this and declaring none of these are true.

“Everyone has bashers naman, I learn that from Day 1, my mom told me not to react on it, but I always read the comment of the bashers, I really like reading it coz it makes me a better person. I always think I’m gonna read this and I’m gonna do the exact opposite.”

You should expect that once you knock at the door, you are not just a paying guest but a special guest that was task to do something in return, of course I will not spoil that here yet.
Ms. Chinkee Ayaquil, Executive Director for Business Development of World of Fun, told us that they retain Bahay Trese in Sta.Lucia, certainly because it’s their biggest branch with good location, at the same time that’s where Bahay Trese all started along with PETA Theater as collaborators.

What can  we expect to this year’s version is a more improve lighting effects that adds to the drama, the story is still engaging up to the point you want to exit right away because it’s freaking scary, and I must say the actors this time are good on timing, I have to commend at the second room where the ghost and the lights synchronize very well.

Bringing back the Loyalist in us. A review.

Photos by Trixie Dauz.
Being a loyalist can be fun, sometimes dangerous, and sometimes dramatic. Loyalist Redux explain that in manner where political issues and situations is dividing the nation, where majority have its own opinion, and while the rest are not inform at all.

As part of the nine play presented in Never Again: Voices of Martial Law, produced by the newly form Ladies Who Launch at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani, in order to create positive information drive for the generation of today, to understand what happen during the Martial Law years in the Philippines, Loyalty Redux is definitely a perfect choice.
This short play is under the Direction of Kanakan Balintagos, who also does Mga Buhay na Apoy last year with Tanghalang Pilipino, as expected it is a great directorial job for Balintagos, his own way of telling stories on stage is a literary piece.

Loyalist Redux is set up when former first Lady Imelda Marcos is returning to the Philippines, a mom played by Pinky Amador is excited and happy to hear that news, her beautiful Idol as well her family is the salvation of the country in her loyalist belief. Her Son played by Kalil Almonte  is a student in the University of the Philippines is opposing that, an exchange of facts, figures, names and incidents occur as the Mother and Son battle for the good of the country thru words.
What I find good in Loyalty Redux is the thoughts of educating you, but not over loading you with facts, not a school type of giving awareness on what you should know about Martial law, plus the factor that it is typical fan who is affirming, while the opponent base his arguments to real cases that transpired.

It’s a first time for me to watch Amador and Almonte in a Filipino play, and they are good on it, the chemistry is there as well as crisp of delivering the lines, it’s their portrayal all in all that carry the play in minimal setting.

Loyalist Redux is part of Set A along with two other short play, below are their schedules Oct 9 at 4pm, and Oct 15 at 8pm. Tickets are at P500 per show. For inquiries, email ladieswholaunch.ph@gmail.com or contact +639178106256. Please make your reservation early since it is a small 100 seating capacity theater only.

The Tick Tick Boom in your life. A review.

The newest offering of 9 Works Theatrical is one must see this October, not because it is the first time in Philippine Stage, but this play showcases three great theater actors of this season that will evolve your inner thoughts, on why is life like that, the why and the what life can offer versus the things we love to do over the things we have to do in order to survive.

Tick Tick Boom obviously tell the struggling years of Musical genius Jonathan Larson, yes the man behind Rent The Musical, and composers of my all-time favorite song “Seasons Of Love”, it’s a monologue on how Jonathan narrate his passion in writing a play, creating songs, and his personal love life and his true best friend.

Believe me, the music are all awesome, good to be free and really compelling to the point you’ll ask yourself, do I pass this stage of my life, how did I overcome it, and did I have fun?  What good thing about it, you’ll go out of theater happy and probably humming one of its songs.
Giving justice to the role of Jon is the reigning Gawad Buhay Best actor Jef Flores, his charm on stage will make you sympathize, laugh and rejoice on how he deliver, this play is his play since he is the main guy from the start to finish with no commercial break, even a water break.

Tanya Manalang is cast as Susan and other sub roles, fresh from her Miss Saigon stint Tanya prove that she is really a face, the voice and the talent we will look for in many many upcoming theater production here and in abroad.  The BFF part belong Ariel Reonal as Michael, who like Tanya is part of Miss Saigon run in West End. This guy is the funny bones of the play, he really had a good timing in comedy.

Directed by Robbie Guevara, Tick Tick Boom is being staged at Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium in RCBC Plaza, for a limited run that start October 1st, and on 8, 9, 15, 16, 21, 22 and 23 at 8:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3:30pm on Sundays.  Co-presented by The Rockwell Club and MAC Cosmetics, the official make up partner.
Technical and production teams are Daniel Bartolome as musical director, Elisanta Cortez as vocal supervisor, Arnold Trinidad as choreographer, Mio Infante as scenographer, Mickey Hirai as costume designer and stylist, Martin Esteva as lighting designer, Myrene Santos as hair and makeup designer, Philleep Masaquel as Technical Director, JC Inocian as photographer, and Maine Manalansan as graphic creative manager.

With executive producer Santi Santamaria, with Anna Santamaria as company manager, Sunshine Domine as production manager, Toff de Venecia as PR director, Jonjon Martin and Issa Tuason as PR managers, GM Hernandez as marketing manager, and Arma Bonilla as stage manager.
