PCPPI recognizes exceptional employees at Gold Crown Awards

Excellence thrives where it is practiced consistently. Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI)—the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country—recently honored three outstanding employees with this year’s Gold Crown Awards. This recognition is awarded to employees for demonstrating professional dedication in line with PCPPI’s ICARE Values, which stands for Integrity and Innovation, Care and Respect, Empowerment and Excellence. The three awardees for this year are (in photo, from left to right) Faith Marie M. Zacal of from PCPPI’s Cagayan De Oro plant, Lucky J. Mallari from the Central Luzon Operations (CLO) and Jona Marie S. Rollan from the Davao manufacturing facility. Of the awardees, PCPPI president and chief executive officer Frederick D. The new dynasty at this year’s Mr. and Miss Chinatown.

On its 5th year, Mr and Ms.Chinatown is ready in presenting the good values and traditions of Filipino-Chinese community in the country, in a new way and new traditions. 15 pairs of gentlemen and ladies coming from Metro Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Davao are this year candidates vying to be called Chinoy cultural ambassadors in line with New Dynasty branding.
“The new thing in this year is were using a new campaign, it’s called “New Dynasty”, traditionally for the Chinoys we think only entrepreneurship or business only, now we want to showcase the other side, the creative side of the Chinoys. So we have candidates who are artists, interior designers, this are field that most traditional Chinoys are not supportive with.” Alvin Tan, President of Chinoy TV.
Winners and runner up will receive cash prize of P200, 000.00, P100, 000.00 and P50, 000.00, while the crown Miss Chinatown will compete for Miss Chinese International. Coronation night is slated on Sept 1, 2017 at The Theatre of Solaire Resort and Casino and to be aired on ABS-CBN Sunday’s Best on Sept 10.
Here are this year’s candidates for Mr. Chinatown, Philipp Licaros, Jonathan Lim, Justin De Jesus, Clarence Lim, Jacob Munez, Michael Cocabo, Derrick Pua, Lance Soriano, Allen Wu, Morgan Gan, Andrew Ryder Co, Vic See, Patrick Rogando, Stanley Quisora and Martin Sy. For Miss Chinatown the candidates are Melany Sy, Kate Au, Jillian Chua, Audrey See, Patricia Claire Balay, Unity Ong Tan Ka, Angela Elpa, Charmaine Hong, Shelby Hernandez, Maryss Ong, Conikka Lagamayo, Kency Ongkeco, Jesslyn Lee, Ivy Shi and Joy Wu.
Darling of the Press winners Joy Wu and Jacob Munes
During the Press Presentation recently, Joy Wu and Jacob Munes won the Darling of the Press award. Talent competition is set on August 20 at 4 in the afternoon in Lucky Chinatown Mall Atrium in Manila. App base voting is also introduce this year to support your favorite candidates.

Director/Dancer Paolo Valenciano will direct the coronaton night, Tan told us that they tap Paolo for this year’s pageant in order for them to have new twist in doing pageantry, it is a showcase of millennials that every gap of the show, will present the good qualities of Chinoys.

“Were focus on the millennials, we focus on qualities, being open minded, being risk taker, so were showing different qualities of Chinoys, in every gap.” Tan added.
Mister and Miss Chinatown 2017 is produce by Chinoy TV, Miss Chinatown Foundation and Oriental Group, and co presented by Solaire Resort and Casino and Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc.

The Miss Chinatown Foundation pageant was created to promote awareness among Filipino Chinese Community about the beauty and richness of the Chinese culture and its language. Fil-Chi Media productions is the company behind Chinese-Filipino Lifestyle magazine show, Chinoy TV, that features Chinese-Filipino lifestyle to its viewers, hosted by Chris Tiu, Willord Chua and Valerie Tan. It airs every Sunday from 10 to 11am on Living Asia Channel and PTV4.
