Century Tuna braces summer with Superbods and Superbods Ageless finalists.


The no.1 Tuna brand in the country is once again ready to sizzle our summer, presenting the usual Superbods that promote healthy lifestyle, come 2018 they introduce a brand new contest called “Ageless” ranging from age 38 to 50 years old.

The 40 gorgeous, fit and sexy finalists were presented to the media during the VIP Night last March 15 at Maybank Performing Arts Theatre in Taguig City.

The 40 Superbods Ageless participate in an exciting lineup of activities throughout the summer. The Ultimate Challenge at the Inflatable Island in Subic will put the finalists’ mental and physical abilities to the test. The Superbods Weekend will include a Zalora fashion show on April 7 featuring the finalists, the fun Underpants Run in the morning of April 8 at Filinvest City in Alabang, Muntinlupa, and the Electric Spinning Party in the afternoon at BGC Amphitheater.

The finalist came from nationwide auditions that Century Tuna conducted from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Greg Banzon of Century Tuna explain to us the reason they decided to stage another kind of pageant which is the Superbods Ageless.

“After 10 years of running Superbods, there was like a bigger challenge of being able to encourage people beyond like normal youth age, to be fit and healthy, this one is a movement for a lot of people beyond age of 40 seems to get fitted and healthy, so we taught of creating a spark and encourage more people to be fit and sexy despite any age.” Banzon said.

On April 12, 2018, the much-awaited Finals Night will be held at the Cove, Okada Manila. The four winners of Century Tuna Superbods 2018 will each receive P500,000 in cash. Marian Rivera renews contract with Mega Prime.

2018 Thirteen Artists Awardees Revealed.

 It is an ominous and omen-like numeric title that popular superstition would probably avoid, but it has proven to be stronger than its own ghosts as the Cultural Center of the Philippines revealed 13 Artists Awards for 2018. Now on its 17th year of conferment, Thirteen Artists Awards (TAA) it means as it sounds, has given special recognition and citation in the field of contemporary visual art to 185 artists since the program started in 1970.
The 2018 Thirteen Artists awardees are Zeus Bascon, Bea Camacho, Cian Dayrit, Janos DelaCruz, Carlo Gabuco, Dina Gadia, Guerrero Habulan, Eisa Jocson, Doktor Karayom, Raffy Napay, Archie Oclos, Lynyrd Paras and Shireen Seno. They were officially named at the press conference held at Museo Ng Kalinangan Pilipino Hall on 14 March 2018 at 12 noon. Chris Millado (CCP Vice President and Artistic Director) made a welcoming remark, Irene Rada (Corporate Communication Division Chief) made a rousing introduction, Rica Estrada (OIC, Visual Arts and Music Division) made an introduction about the awards and the jurors and Noel Cuizon (2018 TAA Juror and previous awardee) made the announcement of awardees.
Winners will receive a cash grant to defray cost of materials for producing new work for a group exhibition at the Bulwagang Juan Luna (Main Gallery). The exhibit opening on 18 October 2018 will be highlighted with the formal recognition of winners. This year’s exhibition will be curated by Ronald Achacoso and the trophy will be designed by Eric Zamuco, both TAA awardees (2000 and 2003, respectively).

Puerto Princesa Government honors outstanding People and organizations.

AS the culmination of this year’s Balayong Festival, the City Government of Puerto Princesa closed this year’s festivity thru Mayor’s Award, the annual recognition body under the leadership of Mayor Lucilo Bayron.

This year’s line-up of awardees undergo nomination process thru special committee set for this year’s awarding, most of its members are head of different department of the City Government that solely monitor each category base on their achievements and contributions to the City in the past year.  Other categories in this year’s award are senior citizen who have reach 100 year old, and Top Taxpayers for 2017. Under special citations are offices both government and private, and notable foundations that is instrumental in the development of the City and its people.

“I am proud of this year’s awardees, and honored to present it because they exemplify personal achievements that go beyond ordinary and inspire others.” Bayron said.

The Mayor’s award gala night was held last March 5, 2018 at the Hari Hall of Princesa Garden Resort and Spa, headed by Bayron himself and Vice Mayor Nancy Socrates and some members of the City Council, the event is attended mostly from the private sectors, NGO’s and foundations that help in building the City in many aspect of life.
The said awards night also witness another gem in conservation efforts of Apuradong Admistrasyon, the City’s slogan in making development without harming the environment, which is the ceremonial signing ceremony between environmental group AB Conservation and the City, in conducting study about Artictis Binturong known as bearcat. The memorandum of agreement is signed between AB Conservation Project Manager Elsa Pauline Kayser and Mayor Bayron.

Environmental Protection – Bishop Pedro Arigo, Law and Justice – Judge Leah Baguyo, Health – Starkey, Youth Development- JCI Oil, Indigenous People- Community Park Warden Association, Tourism Development- Jungle Trail Management.

And here are the top taxpayers of Puerto Princesa, NCCC Group of Companies, Delta P Inc, SM Group of Companies, Southern Luzon Drugs Corporation, Robinsons Group of Companies, Reynaldo Chua Go, Freemont Food Corporation, William Teng, Robert Sy-Syblings Steel and Hardware, and Coca Cola FEMSA Philippines.

The following are the entities given the special citation award, these are Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort, Puerto Princesa Underground River Management Office, Department of Agriculture, USAID-SURGE, Department of Health, Department of Budget and Management, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc.
The 14th Balayong Festival 2018 mark the 146th founding anniversary of the Civil Government of Puerto Princesa. Balayong is a native flower tree endemic only in the City, it is the local version of Sakura or Cherry Blossom known in Japan.

The program highlights local talents like the Palawan State University Singers, Puerto Princesa City Choir, Banwa Dance and Arts, Popstar 2018 grand champion Britanny Gulferic and Philippines Representative to World Championship of Performing Arts 2018 Arjay Espartero. The Chef on parade is choreographed by Ryan Dizon.

Miss Puerto Princesa 2018 winners are also present during the event as official usherettes. 

Mayor’s Award Gala Night is organized by JA Media & Production, an events group, photo and video company base in Palawan, Qatar and Dubai. Pinoy At Heart Malaysian Singer Min Yasmin Debut Her Solo Album.

 Malaysian RnB singer, Min Yasmin debut her solo Philippine album last February 22, 2018 at Manila Polo Club in front of the members of the press. This Pinoy at heart soulful diva, appeared in numerous Malaysian teleseries and movies that earned her as a Soundtrack Singer. Yasmin revealed that she loves watching Pinoy teleseryes, and as a testament to that, the attendees were surprised and amazed when she sung a few lines from the title track of the hit serye "Pangako Sa'yo." In October 2015, the hit single "Sa Iyo" from the album, 2 Voices was released under record label JULFEKAR Music, a song which she collaborated with Nikki Bacolod, a Filipino singer, TV host, swimmer and actress, best known as first runner up in 2005 Search For The Star In A Million of ABS-CBN. In March and October 2017, Yasmin had two successful concerts in Zamboanga and Tawi-Tawi.


PANGARAP her first solo album under JULFEKAR Music managed by her former lover contains fourteen tracks. Seven in Tagalog, three in Tausug, two in Malay, one in Sama and one in English. Yasmin did her own cover of "Bakit Pa" by Jessa Zaragoza, " Kahit Konting Awa, " original theme song from film, The Flor Contemplacion Story by Nora Aunor and " In The Way You Love Me, " the only song in English composed by Filipino hitmaker and producer Vehnee Saturno who was also present during the launch.

A Night Of Filipino Showmanship And Craftsmanship In MARAWING SALAMAT, The Best Of Opera And Fashion

Presented by the Cultural Center of the Philippines and The Lyric Opera of the Philippines in cooperation with E. Zobel Foundation Inc., the biggest names in Philippine Opera and Fashion will gather in one night for the much awaited-collaboration in MARAWING SALAMAT, happening at the CCP Main Theater on April 6, 2018 at 8pm. Duyog Marawi project of the Prelature of St. Mary was unanimously chosen as the sole beneficiary of this fundraising event. THE BEST OF OPERA will feature an all-Filipino cast from the Lyric Opera of the Philippines, chaired by celebrated Filipino soprano, Maestra Irma Ponce Enrile-Potenciano. Directed by Raymond Villanueva and conceptualized by Zardo A. Austria, the cultural fashion show will reminisce and relive " The Pomp and Pageantry of Philippine Carnival Queens " as it highlights the Filipino beauty and talent in a breathtaking parade of modern Filipina creations inspired from the glorious, bygone era of the Carnival Queens circa 1908 - 1939, undoubtedly became the precursor of modern day beauty pageants pre and post the war.
