The COVID-19 pandemic has presented immense challenges to industries around the world. With mobility restrictions in place, business owners had to rethink their operations and adjust to navigate the uncertainties in the new normal. Although some companies were able to adapt and seamlessly shift to the new norm, the process was not easy with many struggling with financial losses and temporary business closures. A survey from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) released September last year reported that the Philippine economy experienced the worst impacts of the pandemic. The Philippines logged the highest number of business closures and layoffs among its peers in Southeast Asia. The unusual and interesting Bih-Zahr Restobar.

THIS Almost four month old Restaurant and a bar in one just went a major renovation recently, this is in preparation for their major blast as the new hideout and hang out place to beat in Quezon City .  Offering variety of sumptuous but affordable food with variety of in house cocktails and hard drinks, Bih-Zahr stand by its name to be the new word of mouth in terms of events and clubbing as to what party is all about.

Ivan Muncad, Bih-Zhar’s Operation Manager inform us that they are the first ever Bar in the metro that offer our LGBT (Lesbian, Gays, Bisexuals & Transgender) friends  their own comfort room, this is aside from the usual Male and Female toilet.  He believe it is a key factor in showing respect for the third sex, especially their weekly Thursday event is dubbed as LGBT night.

But what Muncad is excited for is the new set of menus Bih-Zahr can offer,  he told us that their Sinuglaw is one really food to die for that only them can serve best, their Sisig Pizza is a great inventions of their kitchen as well.   Cheese sticks with Wasabe on mayo is such fun for pulutan during drinking moment.  But I personally recommend their Pansit Guisado Mix whom seafood taste goes beyond for hungry stomach.

Bih-Zahr whose name came from a student during a small request competition by the son/daughter of the owner.  We are told that the owner who request animosity is a establish businessman from the local shipping industry who now venture into Bar business.  The seating capacity of Bih-Zahr is 150 pax and can reach 400 for SRO.
Crispy Crablets, Sizzling Hotdogs, and Cheese Stick.

But what’s really up to the new Bih-Zahr Restobar after the renovation, yes they are open nightly Monday to Saturday but save Sunday.  Daily affairs start with blues every Monday, Tuesday is Ladies night, every Wednesday is Throwback while Thursday is LGBT night, Friday is for the Rockers and Saturday is for the Hiphop. Party people will also get excited on their 24 Bih-Zahr Drinks challenge, it is open for everyone who will survive and stand still after a drinking all of it on a time constraint situation, of course a good prize is at stake on that.

Bih-Zahr Restobar in the past months is a known gig venue for some rock band like Urbandub, Franco and reggae group Brownman Revival.

For more information you can visit Bih-Zahr at #6 Scout Borromeo, South Triangle in Quezon City, or check their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BihZahrRestoBar .
