PREVENTION  is the best cure, a saying that is truly 100% true in taking care of our body, but there is a greater than prevention when you live a healthy life, a healthy way of life in order to avoid those things we prevent to happen.

In an environment like now a days, a sound mind and healthy heart is really a necessity, and with the busy work days we are facing in a daily routine, most of us see only our doctors whenever we feel something, whenever we think that there is a need to consult, and to worst, we see them only when we can’t afford the trail of medications.

Having an annual physical exam is a great relief, many companies especially here in Metro Manila require this kind of system in order to ensure productivity of its employees, and for the employees to realize the need of medical exams to predict what to happen and to live healthy of course.

But most of us neglect what are those need to be check annually, some just regularly do it since it is required, and yes we complain of long que that consume so much time.  But let me tell you those procedures that we usually brush aside and make alibi not to do it.

The Urine test or urinalysis procedures is a way of measuring our sugar intake, it also show Ketones that determine the Uric acid we have in our body, it could also trace if we have Urinary tract infection or UTI, and it could lead signs if we have HIV or some genital diseases.  The fecalysis test is determining our wellness not only for our stomach, through it they can know if we have Amoebiasis, a kind of infection in our intestines, it could also show signs of Colon cancer, and a lot more.

Through Blood count, the balancing of red and white blood cells can be check, if there is an infection in your blood,  and platelet count if you are unaware you have Malaria or Dengue, and a lot of diagnosis depends on your medical history.

X-Ray is one of the fastest system to undergo in most of the required in the Physical exam checklist, but this Laboratory procedures can help you check if you have tuberculosis, the X-ray of the chest can show if you have a collapse lungs, a scoliosis, or enlargement of heart.

Those mention procedure is covered by the new PhilCare Smart Check-Up, an annual physical examination package usually offered in many companies in Manila, this card needs you to register first in mobile, and once receive the activation reply message you can now go ahead and make an appointment to the nearest PhilCare accredited clinics near you, and to avoid the hassle of waiting that long. The card also offer 5% discounts on all laboratory procedures arising from the Physical examination, and 10% on all ultrasound procedures.
