PCPPI recognizes exceptional employees at Gold Crown Awards

Excellence thrives where it is practiced consistently. Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI)—the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country—recently honored three outstanding employees with this year’s Gold Crown Awards. This recognition is awarded to employees for demonstrating professional dedication in line with PCPPI’s ICARE Values, which stands for Integrity and Innovation, Care and Respect, Empowerment and Excellence. With the rising cases of AIDS and HIV in the Philippines, it’s still one of the most unheard topic and stories in the news or even in Social Media, but the warnings and all precautionary measures are all broadcasted or should I say in archives.

In this timing, the AAI/ The Necessary Theater is now bringing in Manila the 2011 Tony Award winner for Best Revival of a play, the Normal Heart who will have limited show in Carlos P. Romulo Theater starting July 3, 2015. it is written by playwright and activist Larry Kramer, about Ned Weeks, an openly gay founder of a prominent HIV advocacy group, set in 1981 in New York City.

Topnotch Theater Actor Bart Guingona will direct and act as Ned, along with Richard Cunanan, Topper Fabrigas, TV/Movie Actor Tj Trinidad, Roselyn Perez, Red Concepcion, Nor Domingo and Jef Flores.

Gungona on a presscon last June 9, 2015 in Café 1771 in Ortigas Center, said that Normal Heart is about activism, its strength lies on how the play narrates autobiographical way to the point that they want it localize, adopting to the current situation of this diseases in the Philippines, as to way back in New York  in that time wherein majority  don’t want to talk or discuss about it.

“It is a play with a lot of hope, that love is resilient”, Guingona said.

The Normal Heart is named as one of the 100 greatest plays of the 20th Century, by the Royal National Theatre in year 2000. It was first staged in Broadway in 1985, and revived in 2004 in Los Angeles and London. The film adaptation debuted in HBO Premium pay cable channel last May 25, 2014.

The Manila beating of The Normal Heart is made possible by Taal Vista Hotel. Baby Imperial and Coco Anne for the set design, Mark Philipp Espina for projections, and Don Taduran for the graphic design, Mariko Yasuda as the Production Manager, Ronah Rostata as the Stage Manager, and Dodo Lim is the producer.

Here are the schedules, July 3, 2015(Friday) 8pm, July 4 (Saturday) 3pm and 8pm, July 5 (Sunday) 3pm and 8pm, all happening in Carlos Romulo Theater located in RCBC Plaza in Makati City. Ticket prices are P1,500 for Orchestra Center and P1, 000 Orchestra side & loge, while balcony is at P500.
