PCPPI recognizes exceptional employees at Gold Crown Awards

Excellence thrives where it is practiced consistently. Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI)—the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country—recently honored three outstanding employees with this year’s Gold Crown Awards. This recognition is awarded to employees for demonstrating professional dedication in line with PCPPI’s ICARE Values, which stands for Integrity and Innovation, Care and Respect, Empowerment and Excellence. The three awardees for this year are (in photo, from left to right) Faith Marie M. Zacal of from PCPPI’s Cagayan De Oro plant, Lucky J. Mallari from the Central Luzon Operations (CLO) and Jona Marie S. Rollan from the Davao manufacturing facility. Of the awardees, PCPPI president and chief executive officer Frederick D. Agora awards 2015 now open for nominations.

The Officers and Agora awardees from Philippine Marketing Association.
 The search is on, for this year’s best marketers in The Philippines via The Agora Awards now turning 36 years older. It’s considered the Oscars of Philippine Marketers who, the best and effective marketing campaigns are recognized, and the minds behind those marketing success.

From the greek word Agora meaning Market started in 1979, as of now it has eight categories such as Marketing Company of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Advocacy Marketing, Outstanding Achievement in Entrepreneurship (Large scale, medium and small scale), Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Management, Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Communications, Marketing in Education, Overseas Marketing and Export Marketing.

The winners for this year should be nominated, the form can be downloaded from www.theagora.ph and deadline of submission is on Sept 8, 2015. But the twist for this year is, aside from the usual awarding ceremony, selected past winners of Agora Awards will also convene for a day of talks, to share their stories, their secrets and tips on how to succeed in Marketing, it’s called the Agora Circle Conference that they are reviving for this year.

Among those past winners and will be speakers are Greg Banzon of Century Canning Corp, Sari Yap of One Mega Group, Inc, Emily Abrera of McCann Erickson Philippines, Butch Jimenez of PLDT, Chito Sobrepena of Metrobank, and a lot more.

Obra Ni Juan. Theater Review.

Spoliarium, an opera with libretto by Soprano Fides Cuyugan-Asensio and with music by Ryan Cayabyab was the first production I saw pertaining to the life of Juan Luna. Originally staged at the CCP in 2003 starring Robert Seña at the titular role, the opera was staged in Tribeca Performing Arts Center in New York thirteen years later. Philippine Stagers Foundation (PSF) current production of "Obra Ni Juan " was my follow-up. This original Filipino musical entertainment was written by Atty. Princess Laura, Prince Florante, Prince Aladin and Princess Flerida.   Amidst innovations and new techniques in presenting play, the Gantimpala Theater Foundation, Inc stand in delivering the Filipino classic story “Florante At Laura” in a traditional way as they open 38 th Season. They use the Komedya complete with majestic marches and grand batalia for the entire run of Florante and Laura. Theater thespian Roeder Camanag told us that they have preliminary talks and briefing with schools on how the classic way of theater production on stage.
