PCPPI recognizes exceptional employees at Gold Crown Awards

Excellence thrives where it is practiced consistently. Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI)—the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country—recently honored three outstanding employees with this year’s Gold Crown Awards. This recognition is awarded to employees for demonstrating professional dedication in line with PCPPI’s ICARE Values, which stands for Integrity and Innovation, Care and Respect, Empowerment and Excellence. The three awardees for this year are (in photo, from left to right) Faith Marie M. Zacal of from PCPPI’s Cagayan De Oro plant, Lucky J. Mallari from the Central Luzon Operations (CLO) and Jona Marie S. Rollan from the Davao manufacturing facility. Of the awardees, PCPPI president and chief executive officer Frederick D. The well attended 8th Cuyonon Baragatan.

It was one of the most attended Cuyonon Baragatan that happen last Aug 16, 2015 at Club Filipino in Greenhills in San Juan City. More than 500 Cuyonons  from Metro Manila and other part of Luzon, and from abroad attended this once a year reunion to celebrate the forth coming Feast of St. Agustin, the patron saint of Cuyo, an island municipality in Palawan.

Among attendees this year are past officials in the province of Palawan, like former Governor Baham Mitra, former Congressman Amor Abueg, Former Board Member Jimmy Josol , Cuyo Mayor Andrew Ong, and members of Palawan Clergy headed by Fr.Eugene Elevera of Seminario De San Jose.

Baragatan Cuyonon 2015 is spearheaded by Manny Ching, Dr.Heracleo Lagrada of Fatima University is this year’s inspirational speaker, on his talk Lagrada remind the youth of today about the cultural importance of Cuyo to the province, and show some old and new photos of Cuyo.

But it was Engr. Rufo Cabanlig of MacroAsia is the guest speaker, on his message he discuss his struggles being a student who hail from Island Cuyo to UP Manila campus.  He was able to achieve many things in Mining industry and he was so happy because he is a true blooded Cuyonin.

The Sinika or Sining ng mga Katutubo headed by Nonoy Lanzanas made a grand performance, they perform songs from their latest album that on sale that time, they also had a duet number with Rosanna Pediapco-Trampe who also appear in the album.

The Cuyonon Baragatan Organization also announces the incoming chairperson for the celebration next year and in 2017. Trampe will be the head for next year, while Jess tan is for 2017 in order to give them so much time in preparation and get more sponsors.

Aside from Sinika, Child Singing Champion Krissy Mayo, Eunice Samandre and Ms. Ana also perform as intermission. Founding member Grace Gobing  perform a breathtaking dance number as well as some founding members for some cultural dances of Cuyo. The annual gathering ends with raffle and dance party.
