Excellence thrives where it is practiced consistently. Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI)—the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country—recently honored three outstanding employees with this year’s Gold Crown Awards. This recognition is awarded to employees for demonstrating professional dedication in line with PCPPI’s ICARE Values, which stands for Integrity and Innovation, Care and Respect, Empowerment and Excellence. The three awardees for this year are (in photo, from left to right) Faith Marie M. Zacal of from PCPPI’s Cagayan De Oro plant, Lucky J. Love for romance and love for environment. A Lakbay2Love Film Review.

Lakbay2Love official poster.
Lakbay2Love is a film about beauty, no doubt. The sceneries shown in Lakbay2Love by Erasto Films are all worthy to be shown onscreen. Eye candy with a breathtaking feeling, would make you wish that you could explore those mountains, hills through biking. This is the third offering by the award-winning filmmaker Ellen Ongkeko Marfill, following Pusang Gala and Boses.

Lakbay2Love stars Solenn Heussaff and Dennis Trillo. Solenn plays Lianne, a videographer who features forester Jay-R (Trillo) who advocates biking for healthier environment.  Lianne is recovering from heartbreak over Macky (Kit Thompson) who happens to be a friend of Jay-R. Their fates crossover.  But the film does not create so much of a love triangle feel.

One very good thing about Lakbay2Love is the details of its characters. The research was well analyzed and given justice through their dialogues. You can feel that it is not just about biking. It also points out some negative impacts of it to the environment.

Trillo’s charm and brilliance in acting was showcased. I felt his skill in the scene before he sang Overdrive, his eyes were talking to me. The fact that he is a biker in real life shows onscreen. While Kit Thompson’s performance makes you think that he had been acting for a long time, even before his Pinoy Big Brother stint. The scene with shirtless Kit playing with a dog is a winner.  You’d wish for extra rice.

Lakbay2Love presents sceneries of the Philippines that I think was never shown in any other films, like the La Mesa Dam, Timberland Heights and Benguet. I guarantee that those landscapes are all to die for and make them part of your bucket list.

The songs are all original Filipino music and really fit well to the scenes of nature being explored.

Lakbay2Love will open in theatres this February 3, 2016. This film is supported by La Mesa Ecopark, Timberland Heights, 7-Eleven, Firefly Brigade and the Cordillera Conservation Trust. For details, please check facebook.com/Lakbay2Love or www.lakbay2love.com
