PLDT lauds ‘unbreakable spirit’ of PH enterprises amid challenging times

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented immense challenges to industries around the world. With mobility restrictions in place, business owners had to rethink their operations and adjust to navigate the uncertainties in the new normal. Although some companies were able to adapt and seamlessly shift to the new norm, the process was not easy with many struggling with financial losses and temporary business closures. A survey from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) released September last year reported that the Philippine economy experienced the worst impacts of the pandemic. The Philippines logged the highest number of business closures and layoffs among its peers in Southeast Asia. Known for organizing, managing and promoting world- class and quality events and concerts, Royale Chimes Concerts & Events Inc. officially launched the search for first Mr. and Ms. BPO last September 27, 2017 at KPUB BBQ in Trinoma. Chimes International with offices both in the US and UK has been in ditto industry for more than two decades now, is the mother company.

In the years to come, Royale Chimes aims to innovate and introduce groundbreaking concepts and unwavering events closer to the public. BPO short for "Business Process Outsourcing” represents people working in a call center. And the Philippines is regarded as the BPO capital of the world.

Mr. & Ms. BPO aims to promote excellence, leadership and camaraderie in the workplace such as empowerment, work ethics and nation building. It will be presented in a pageant format and will develop its candidates in a holistic approach. The winners will serve as goodwill ambassadors for the industry and they will undergo mentoring and coaching from premier and formidable trainers in their respective industries. This will comprise of physical fitness, communication skills and Emotional Intelligence acumen. Interested parties must be 18 to 26 years old, single, Filipino citizen or with Filipino blood ancestry, at least 5’4” tall for female and 5’6” tall for male. They must also have proportionate physique, pleasing personalities and with good moral character. Must be a regular employee and a resident of the Philippines.
