PCPPI recognizes exceptional employees at Gold Crown Awards

Excellence thrives where it is practiced consistently. Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI)—the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country—recently honored three outstanding employees with this year’s Gold Crown Awards. This recognition is awarded to employees for demonstrating professional dedication in line with PCPPI’s ICARE Values, which stands for Integrity and Innovation, Care and Respect, Empowerment and Excellence. The three awardees for this year are (in photo, from left to right) Faith Marie M. Zacal of from PCPPI’s Cagayan De Oro plant, Lucky J. Mexican flavors introduce in Painted Table.

The in-house restaurant of Canvass Boutique Hotel here in Puerto Princesa, is introducing a new flavors, an experience to look for thru the Mexican foods that they offer since February of this year, the revamp of their menu is to cater for foreign market and to have a fresh start for 2019.

“The basic connotation of hotel food is fancy, really elegant, slight formal, so we decided to be very casual, very fun, it’s like an experience that’s why we decided on doing Mexican so that we can cater to the foreign market as well as introduce new cuisines here in Puerto Princesa.” Chef Mikel Zaguirre said.


During its food tasting event, Painted Table present a modern twist of Mexican flavors, their versions of tortilla speak fun due to its texture of colors, they called it rainbow flour tortillas and its home made by their own experts in culinary.

Zaguiree point out to us that they utilize whatever homegrown and available ingredients in Palawan, their attempt of twisting classic menu to modern way of eating is a success, due to its flavorful and beautiful servings.

“We make sure that the items are very classical by nature, the twist or the modern presentations is different, we use what is available here in Puerto Princesa, we use whatever is growing here, the herbs, we made use of the local proteins like the seafoods that is readily available here, so its like modern take on classical renditions.” Zaguiree added
New Mexican Corn Chowder
Among they offer to us in this events are Kimchi De Pulpo Ceviche, it is savory with tender pickled octopus mixed with a lot of herb and spices, this is a thumbs up for taste buds soothers. Their version of Mexican Corn Chowder is another winner, it is flavorful with smoked bacon chunks and mozzarella cheese.

Another highly recommended is the Quesadilla, the rainbow tortilla stole the presentation as it was top with Jalapeno and Pico De Gallo, Roasted Chicken Mole is another favorite, the blending of herbs and spices with cacao is all in for great combination, Costilla Adobadas and Grilled Stuff Squid are another set of love you can expect to eat in Painted Table.

For dessert, highly recommended are Margrita Trifle, Panela De Tres Leches that bring out the cashew nuts a winner,  and Capirotada, a milk-less pudding infused with cinnamon maple syrup,  they all yummy goodness to end you’re eating experience in this cozy resto of Canvas Boutique Hotel.
