PCPPI recognizes exceptional employees at Gold Crown Awards

Excellence thrives where it is practiced consistently. Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI)—the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country—recently honored three outstanding employees with this year’s Gold Crown Awards. This recognition is awarded to employees for demonstrating professional dedication in line with PCPPI’s ICARE Values, which stands for Integrity and Innovation, Care and Respect, Empowerment and Excellence. Nonoy Zuniga celebrates 47th year as OPM Hitmaker.

Original Pilipino Music hitmaker and legend Nonoy Zuniga is now making a comeback as solo in concert scene, this is after almost 5 years of not doing major concert in Metro Manila, the man behind songs “Doon Lang”, “Kamusta Ka”, “Magandang Gabi” and “Never Ever Said Goodbye” say he miss doing big shows and he don’t feel pressure at all, his upcoming “Through The Years” concert is a compilation of song he perform when he is starting, first as folk singer then later join a band.  

“This one is folk singing, 70’s when I was a folk singer, mga songs nila James Taylor, Cat Steven, then when I join the band mga Earth Wind and Fire, tapos mga songs ko, less than 2 hours mga 20 songs” Zuniga said during his blog con last March 8, 2019 at Pamana Restaurant in Quezon City.

Through the years is set on March 13, 8pm at the Newport Performing Arts Theater at the Resorts World in Pasay City, Zuniga will be join by Nyoy Volante, Southborder, Mitch Valdez and introducing Jeselle Kempis.  Produced by OGK Entertainment Production for the benefit of Calamba Doctors Medical Educational & Science Foundation, Inc (CDMESFI) and Manila East Medical Educational Science Foundation, Inc.

Producer Lourdes Kempis is happy in having Zuniga for her first venture in the concert business, she is a fan of Zuniga music and a kababayan from Leyte, and they are both waray.  The show is a tribute to her late husband Dr. Kempis who will celebrate his birthday on the said day.

Nonoy is known in the industry as a clean and good guy, a graduate of Doctor of Medicine from University of Santo Tomas, he run his own skincare clinic, the Piel Skincare Center that have branch in Manila and Cebu.  His secret for having that kind of reputation is being discipline.

Among the new generation of OPM Artists, Zuniga has a lot of good things to say for Morissette Amon, he was so impress with her vocal power and if given a chance he wants to do a collaboration with her in the future. He is also open for offers in making all his songs into a theater musical, as far he can recall he did record around 100 songs since 1981. He also reveal that he did a formal voice lesson in University of the Philippines thru the late Aurelio Estanislao.

Through the years is under the direction of Andrew De Real with Bobby Gomes as the musical director along with Brothers Unlimited. Tickets are now available thru Ticket World.
