PCPPI recognizes exceptional employees at Gold Crown Awards

Excellence thrives where it is practiced consistently. Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI)—the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country—recently honored three outstanding employees with this year’s Gold Crown Awards. This recognition is awarded to employees for demonstrating professional dedication in line with PCPPI’s ICARE Values, which stands for Integrity and Innovation, Care and Respect, Empowerment and Excellence. Rak of Aegis Season 7: A Homage to OPM

Dubbed as the longest running contemporary pinoy musical play, Rak of Aegis returns for another season from July 5 to September 29, 2019. For its seventh season, the musical will look back to its roots and pays homage to the original Filipino music.

Since 2014, Rak of Aegis has become PETA mainstay play which grows bigger, both in casts and production, each year. Written by Liza Magtoto and features classic jukebox songs of Aegis, the play revolves around Aileen’s dream of becoming a famous singer by becoming an online viral sensation. Together with the hilarious community of Barangay Venezia, the play portrays the struggle of achieving big dreams in a poverty-stricken society.

With its return this July 2019, Rak will be co-presented with the the Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM), The Philpop MusicFest Foundation (PhilPop) and PLDT Home Fibr. The collaboration aims to showcase local talents in the different field of entertainment, especially in theater, and impart how our local music evoke our aspirations. Moreover, the partnership also extends beyond the musical through supporting music boot camps and also supporting budding artists. As one of its activities, PETA will held busking of different artists will be held on PETA lobby during the run of the Musical play. 
GMA 7’s Derrick Monasterio will play as Tolits
Much for the delight of the OG Rak fans since 2014, Season 7 will be an amalgam of both the original and new casts. Fresh from her Miss Saigon global tour, The OG Aileen herself, Ms. Aicelle Santos, will be back for the season as one of the four Aileens. Left last 2017 on the 5th season, Aicelle sees the Rak ensemble as her home- the happy home. Addition to the ever-growing Barangay Venezia, the play welcomes their newest casts: Randy Santiago as Fernan, Noel Cabangon as Kiel, Bayang Barrios and Jenine Desiderio as Mary Jane and Derrick Monasterio as Tolits . The veterans will also be joined by the freshest talents: Kimberly Baluzo as Aileen, Leah Patricio as Mercy, and Yumi Lacsamana, Ashe Uy, Marynor Madamesila, Lemuel Silvestre and Gerard Dy as members of the ensemble.

Season seven will also be an exciting comeback of the original and returning casts which would include Kim Molina and Shaira Opsimar (Aileen); Isay Alvarez-Seña and Sweet Plantado-Tiongson (Mary Jane); Robert Seña and Renz Verano (Kiel); Kakai Baurista and Noemi Gonzales (Mercy); Myke Salomon, Poppert Bernadas, and Vince Lim (Kenny); Jeral Napoles, Pepe Herrera, and Joshua Bulot (Tolits); Ron Alfonso and Jimmy Marquez (Jewel); Gie Onida and Rody Vera (Fernan); and Gimbey Dela Cruz, Gab Panginlinan, Matel Patayon, Abi Sulit, Teetin Villanueva, Gold Villar-Lim, Paeng Sudayan, Rio Calilong, Gio Gahol, Carlon Matobato, and John Moran as members of ensemble.

With its timely and socially relevant plot, classic jukebox hits and ever-grandeur production, Watching Rak is never the same experience each season. With an ensemble of the country’s greatest singers and theater actors, the show will always be a musical performance to look forward to. Its 300++ sold out shows for the pasts seasons proves that Rak’s story of hope, resilience and celebration of filipino spirit captures the heart of massive theater-goers.
