PCPPI recognizes exceptional employees at Gold Crown Awards

Excellence thrives where it is practiced consistently. Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI)—the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country—recently honored three outstanding employees with this year’s Gold Crown Awards. This recognition is awarded to employees for demonstrating professional dedication in line with PCPPI’s ICARE Values, which stands for Integrity and Innovation, Care and Respect, Empowerment and Excellence. The three awardees for this year are (in photo, from left to right) Faith Marie M. Zacal of from PCPPI’s Cagayan De Oro plant, Lucky J. Cebu Pacific gifts Philippine Olympic delegation with free flights

Cebu Pacific, the country’s leading carrier, honors the heroic feats of the Philippine delegation to the Tokyo Olympics after they reaped multiple medals for the first time since the Los Angeles 1932 Games.

CEB, along with the whole Filipino population, is beyond proud of all 19 athletes who represented the country, and recognizes their efforts by awarding them with free flights.

Every Juan of them deserves to fly: Eireen Ando, Kurt Barbosa, Hidilyn Diaz, Margielyn Didal, Luke Gebbie, Kris Knott, Eumir Marcial, Irish Magno, Cris Nievarez, EJ Obiena, Carlo Paalam, Bianca Pagdanganan, Juvic Pagunsan, Nesthy Petecio, Remedy Rule, Yuka Saso, Jason Valdez, Kiyomi Watanabe, and Carlos Yulo.

“All our athletes have uplifted the country’s spirits amid this challenging time. We are grateful to them for going above and beyond, and we know they all have respective support teams behind them – this is why we want to have them and their loved ones enjoy free flights from us,” said Candice Iyog, Vice President for Marketing & Customer Experience at Cebu Pacific.

Each member of the Philippine delegation will receive 25 flights for free, to commemorate the airline’s 25 years of enabling everyjuan to fly.

These tickets may be used for any domestic and short haul destination in the Cebu Pacific network. Each awarded athlete may choose to use these for themselves, or share with the rest of their teammates, families – practically anyone in their support system. “We know it takes a village, and all those behind our athletes also poured their efforts into this. Each and every Juan of you deserve to fly,” added Iyog.

Obra Ni Juan. Theater Review.

Spoliarium, an opera with libretto by Soprano Fides Cuyugan-Asensio and with music by Ryan Cayabyab was the first production I saw pertaining to the life of Juan Luna. Originally staged at the CCP in 2003 starring Robert Seña at the titular role, the opera was staged in Tribeca Performing Arts Center in New York thirteen years later. Philippine Stagers Foundation (PSF) current production of "Obra Ni Juan " was my follow-up. This original Filipino musical entertainment was written by Atty. Princess Laura, Prince Florante, Prince Aladin and Princess Flerida.   Amidst innovations and new techniques in presenting play, the Gantimpala Theater Foundation, Inc stand in delivering the Filipino classic story “Florante At Laura” in a traditional way as they open 38 th Season. They use the Komedya complete with majestic marches and grand batalia for the entire run of Florante and Laura. Theater thespian Roeder Camanag told us that they have preliminary talks and briefing with schools on how the classic way of theater production on stage.
